Tadej Pogačar Targets 2025 Tour de France, Excludes Paris-Roubaix, and Chooses Between Giro and Vuelta

Slovenian cycling star Tadej Pogačar has announced his clear plans for the 2025 season, focusing on the Tour de France while ruling out participation in the iconic Paris-Roubaix. The two-time Tour de France winner has made a decisive choice for the upcoming year, prioritizing his performance in the most prestigious race of the cycling calendar.

2025 Tour de France on the Horizon

Pogačar, 25, revealed that he will target the 2025 Tour de France as his primary goal, aiming to secure a third victory in the world’s most renowned cycling event. His focus will be on preparing for the grueling 21-stage race, with the ambition of continuing his dominance on the French roads.

“I want to win again in the Tour,” Pogačar stated. “I’ve had great success in the past, and I’m determined to give my best effort to take the yellow jersey home for a third time in 2025.”

Paris-Roubaix Not on the Agenda

While Pogačar has become one of the most formidable cyclists in the peloton, he has made it clear that he will not race the Paris-Roubaix in 2025. The brutal one-day classic, known for its cobbled sections and punishing terrain, will not be part of his race calendar.

“Paris-Roubaix is a fantastic race, but it’s not part of my plans for next year,” he explained. “I prefer focusing on stage races and the challenges they present.”

Giro d’Italia or Vuelta a España?

Another key decision for Pogačar’s 2025 season is whether he will compete in the Giro d’Italia or the Vuelta a España. Both prestigious grand tours are significant challenges, and Pogačar has yet to finalize which one he will race.

“Both the Giro and the Vuelta are great races, and I am weighing my options,” Pogačar said. “It will depend on how I feel leading into the season and where I believe I can achieve the best results. My team and I are still discussing the best approach.”

Focused on Continued Success

Despite the uncertainty over his grand tour choice, one thing is clear: Pogačar is setting his sights on another remarkable year in cycling, continuing to build on his legacy as one of the sport’s brightest stars. Whether at the Giro, Vuelta, or in the Tour de France, Pogačar remains a top contender in any race he enters.
