Ex-Alabama receiver lands at Arizona State

Jaren Hamilton will be taking his talents west.

The former Alabama football receiver is transferring to Arizona State, he told On3.

Hamilton spent the past two seasons with the Crimson Tide after he was a four-star receiver in the 2023 recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite. Hamilton ranked as the No. 35 receiver overall in that class. Hamilton is from Gainesville, Florida.

This past season, Hamilton saw time in four games: Western Kentucky, Wisconsin, Mercer and the ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan. In total, Hamilton received 17 special teams snaps and 30 snaps on offense, with 23 of those against Mercer, per Pro Football Focus. Hamilton didn’t catch any passes but made one tackle in 2024.

Hamilton is among of group of receivers who decided to enter the transfer portal in December and January. He joined Caleb Odom, Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice, Emmanuel Henderson and Amari Jefferson. Prentice led that group with 11 receptions for 129 yards and one touchdown.
Meanwhile, Alabama added Miami’s Isaiah Horton from the transfer portal to combine forces with Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams, two starting receivers who are returning for 2025. Alabama also has options such as Cole Adams, Rico Scott and Jaylen Mbakwe, who recently converted from cornerback to receiver.
The winter window for Alabama players to enter the transfer portal has now closed. But players in the portal can still make decisions as to where they will play next.
