New Details Emerge on Carson Beck’s Departure From Georgia.

Carson Beck shocked fans when he decided to leave the Georgia Bulldogs in the transfer portal and join the Miami Hurricanes for the 2025 campaign. While the quarterback has been bashed for his decision, new details have emerged regarding this situation that will surely catch the attention of fans everywhere. Beck endured a rocky 2024 campaign, as he threw for 3,485 yards and 28 touchdowns, but also tossed 12 interceptions, which was the most of any quarterback in the SEC. Beck’s season came to an early end after he suffered a right elbow injury in the SEC Championship game against the Texas Longhorns that required surgery. Initially, Beck declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, but he changed his mind and entered the transfer portal instead. While he ended up with Miami, it has been reported that Georgia was the first team to call him and try to sign him for the 2025 season, with the Alabama Crimson Tide also reaching out to him before the Hurricanes did. “A person close to Beck’s decision making, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the process, told USA TODAY Sports that not only was Georgia at the front of the line for Beck – who has been eviscerated by Georgia fans on social media since the Bulldogs’ early exit from the College Football Playoff – but SEC heavyweight Alabama was next to call,” Matt Hayes reported. While Beck was criticized for his inconsistent play in 2024, the Bulldogs collapsed without him in the College Football Playoff. Despite earning the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye, Georgia lost their first game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, sending them into the offseason far earlier than expected.

Despite the Bulldogs’ best efforts to keep him in town, Beck bolted for Miami, where he will hope to put together a bounce back campaign before entering the 2026 NFL Draft. And now, Georgia is left scrambling as they try to figure out who their starting quarterback will be next season.
