The LSU Tigers appear to be one of the early favorites for one of the top 2027 college football recruits in the nation.

2027 wide receiver Ethan Feaster, 6-foot/175 lbs from DeSoto, TX, recently spoke to 247Sports about his recruitment and he pointed out LSU as one of three programs (along with Texas A&M and USC) that’s doing the best job of “connecting” with him during the recruiting process.

Feaster told 247Sports that he’s a big fan of LSU co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton.

Feaster is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Texas. He’s also ranked as the No. 6 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

Other programs — such as Texas, Oregon, Tennessee, and Ohio State — are also in the mix, but it might be the Tigers who are the current leaders in this battle.

“This one has a long way to go. The Texas schools are, no doubt, going to be in it until the end. LSU is a big, big player in this one and might be the leader right now,” wrote 247Sports’ Tom Loy this week.

As Loy noted, there’s a long way to go in this recruiting battle, but LSU is certainly sitting in a good spot for the coveted wide receiver.
