Former Penn State quarterback promoted to Ohio State’s QBs coach: report
A former walk-on quarterback at Penn State, Billy Fessler has made quite a name for himself in the college coaching industry at a young age. His latest reported move was a big one.
Fessler, 29, will be promoted to Ohio State quarterbacks coach next season, according to a Wednesday report from 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz. He spent the 2024 season as a coaching assistant with the Buckeyes, working closely with the quarterbacks on the national championship run.
Fessler replaced former Buckeyes offensive coordinator Chip Kelly in the quarterbacks role, as Kelly moved on to be the offensive coordinator for the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders. Well-regarded Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline will lead Fessler as the new offensive coordinator in Columbus.
