Ohio State football team could cause more devastation for Tennessee

The Ohio State football program continues to push hard on the recruiting trail. They are trying to add to what is already a really solid 2026 recruiting class. It is one of the best recruiting classes in the country already, and they only have 11 commitments for the class so far.

While the Buckeyes are also trying to add some talent from the transfer portal, they have not neglected the recruiting trail. There are several prospects that have set up official visits with the Buckeyes for later in the Spring and in the Summer.

One prospect that the Ohio State Buckeyes have been engaged in talks with for a while is five-star running back Savion Hiter. Hiter is rated as the number-one running back in the country and has now seemingly focused on two schools as his recruitment winds down.

The Ohio State football team could land top running back over Tennessee

Hiter seems to be choosing between the Ohio State football program and Tennessee. The 5’11, 200-pound back from Virginia seems to have those two programs higher than everyone else, meaning the Buckeyes have a chance to cause more devastation for the Vols.

After beating Tennessee in the College Football Playoff, the Volunteers have had a rough go of things recently. They just lost their starting quarterback to the transfer portal and don’t seem to have a replacement for him yet. Losing HIter to Ohio State would be another kick in the stomach.

For Ohio State, they are going to keep trying to land Hiter by whatever means necessary. They really like what he is able to do with the ball in his hands. He would be another great running back that Ohio State would have on their roster in the last few years.

While Hiter seems to be choosing between those two schools, he has not indicated when he will make a final decision. He will be visiting Ohio State at the end of May.
