LSU baseball announces rotation vs. Tennessee
LSU baseball has not committed to a starter for Sunday’s game against Tennessee, coach Jay Johnson said Thursday.
The Tigers host the Volunteers for a three-game series beginning on Friday at Alex Box Stadium. Sophomore left-hander Kade Anderson will start Friday for the Tigers and junior right-hander Anthony Eyanson takes the ball first on Saturday.
The Volunteers have also not announced a Sunday starter. Tennessee will turn to left-hander Liam Doyle on Friday and right-hander Marcus Phillips on Saturday.
Redshirt sophomore Chase Shores had started on the weekend in each of LSU’s first nine weekend series but didn’t start last Saturday against Alabama. Shores was listed as the Tigers’ probable starter for that game earlier in the week, but junior left-hander Conner Ware took the mound first.
Shores has a 5.44 ERA in 41⅓ innings. He surrendered three earned runs in two innings in his last start against Auburn and allowed four earned runs in 2⅔ innings this past weekend against the Crimson Tide. Ware allowed one earned runs in two innings against Alabama. He has a 4.66 ERA in 19⅓ innings on the year.
