How many players did Ohio State lose to the transfer portal? Buckeye Breakfast
COLUMBUS, Ohio — While Ohio State football was in the midst of putting together what is now tied for its greatest NFL Draft class of all time, it was also making sure to retain its 2025 roster.
The Buckeyes lost 11 players to the transfer portal during the winter window, which for them wasn’t until the five days after winning the national title, since their season went so long. And many of those players chose to wait until after the run to enter the portal.
When the spring window opened up for 10 days on April 15, it wouldn’t have been shocking to see a few more go in after 15 spring practices and not seeing a way onto the field this season. Instead, the opposite happened as no one chose to leave.
The Buckeyes have, however, already added two more transfers from the portal in North Carolina’s Beau Atkinson and West Virginia’s Justin Terry.
Losing just 11 players to the portal in 2025 cuts in half he number Ohio State lost after the 2023 season, when it lost 22 players. Here are all the players OSU lost to the portal this offseason:
