Vols Secure No. 14 Overall Seed in NCAA Tournament, Host Alabama State in First Round

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee men’s tennis team is the No. 14 overall seed and will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament at Barksdale Stadium, running May 3-4.

This year will mark the 16th time Tennessee has hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Vols are set to continue their ongoing streak, as UT has played host for the past six full seasons on Rocky Top.

Tennessee will play host to Alabama State on Saturday, May 3, at 1 p.m. ET. The Hornets are 15-10 and are coming off a victory at the SWAC Championship.

On the other side of the bracket in the Knoxville Regional, Duke will face off against Middle Tennessee State on Saturday, May 3, at 10 a.m. ET. The winner of match 1 will face the winner of match 2 on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET in the NCAA Round of 32.

UT finished fifth in the SEC during the regular season with an 18-7 overall record and eventually made a trip to the SEC Tournament Semifinals for the sixth straight year, where they fell to top-seeded Texas.

The 15th-ranked Vols have surpassed the 20-win mark in each of the past seven full seasons. The Vols were 14-2 when the 2020 dual season was shut down due to COVID-19 and reached the 20-win mark in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and now 2025.

Gates for all three matches at the Knoxville Regional will open one hour prior to first serve.

Free spectator parking will be provided in the G-17 parking garage off Terrace and Lake Avenue.
