New rankings were not kind to Sooners after their series loss to Georgia
The Oklahoma Sooners will have to fight to still be ranked by the time the college baseball regular season ends.
After a midweek loss and dropping two of three to Georgia in a top-15 SEC series last weekend, the Sooners tumbled in the latest college baseball rankings. OU sits at No. 21 in every major poll this week, with the biggest fall being eight spots in the USA Today Baseball Coaches Poll.

The Sooners’ week started with a 5-3 loss to Oral Roberts on Tuesday at home. It was only OU’s third midweek loss of the season and halted a four-game winning streak.
Then over the weekend, the Sooners beat then-No. 10 Georgia in Game 1 in Athens before losing the next two. The Bulldogs barely even rose to No. 9 in this week’s D1Baseball Top 25.
The loaded SEC had 10 teams included in the latest D1 Baseball Top 25. The group is headlined by No. 1 Texas and No. 2 LSU with four SEC squads in the top 10.
That creates a lot of opportunity for the Sooners, at 30-13, to either rise or crash during the final three weeks of the regular season. Weather canceled midweek action for the Sooners this week, but this weekend they will host No. 23 Ole Miss for a three-game series at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
The Sooners will then head to Kentucky next weekend before hosting the top-ranked Longhorns for the Red River Rivalry.
