Summy Named to Haskins Award Postseason Watch List
NORMAN – Oklahoma junior Jase Summy was named to the Haskins Award presented by Stifel postseason watch list on Wednesday.
The award is given annually to the nation’s top collegiate golfer and is voted on by college golfers, coaches, and members of the golf media. This year’s watch list includes 15 of the country’s top players and will be narrowed to 10 finalists on May 16.
Summy has emerged as one of the premier collegiate golfers during a standout 2024-25 season. The Keller, Texas, native owns the fourth-best season scoring average against par in program history at -0.92 and rose as high as No. 5 in the national individual rankings. His season includes seven top-20 finishes, six top-10s, four top-fives and one individual title. A preseason All-American, he was named an All-Region and All-Big 12 selection as a freshman in 2023. A two-time collegiate tournament champion, Summy has notched 11 career top-10 finishes and currently sits at No. 18 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). Over the past year, he’s delivered standout performances at top amateur events, finishing runner-up at the Sunnehanna Amateur, fifth at the North & South Amateur and 16th at the Australian Master of the Amateurs. Before arriving in Norman, he was a two-time Rolex Junior All-American, a top-10 national recruit and two-time TAPPS 5A state runner-up at Keller High School.
Summy looks to become the second Sooner to win the Haskins Award, following Chris Gotterup’s selection in 2022.
Since 1971, the Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel has recognized the nation’s top male collegiate golfer. Managed by the Haskins Foundation, the award has honored players who have gone on to win 33 major championships and more than 400 professional titles worldwide. It serves as the men’s counterpart to the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel, which recognizes the top female NCAA Division I golfer each season.
