With just two Premier League fixtures to go before the campaign’s end, the Hammers are aiming to end on a high after a disappointing season.

Graham Potter’s side could still finish as high as 13^th, and they got back to winning ways last weekend when they overcame Manchester United 2-0.

However, this Sunday, they face a tougher task as they take on Champions League hopefuls Nottingham Forest at the London Stadium in their final home match.

Unlike the Hammers, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are going into the game with something to play for, and this reflects in the predictions.

According to Opta‘s supercomputer, Forest are the favourites to win the tie and have been given a 37.5 per cent chance of taking all three points.

In comparison, West Ham are 35.3 per cent likely to win the match, while a draw is seen as 27.2 per cent likely

West Ham must be competitive against Nottingham Forest

Going into the match, expectations are not going to be high. The victory over Manchester United did little but paper over the cracks in what has been a terrible season.

With Forest coming to the London Stadium determined to turn their form around, West Ham cannot get battered in their final home match of the campaign.

If Forest wins by two or three goals, questions will rightly be asked again about Potter’s future in East London.

West Ham simply must be competitive against the visitors, and if they get a point, that will be a good result.
