Anderson called-up for United States’ Spain trip
Stoke City defender Freddie Anderson has been named in the USA’s under-19s squad for their upcoming friendlies on the Costa Blanca.
Anderson’s side face Spain in Albir on Saturday, June 7, before playing Ukraine three days later at the same venue.
The Potters’ defender, who made a goalscoring first team debut in August’s Carabao Cup defeat of Carlisle United, earned his first call-up for his country in January when he joined the under-20s in preparation for the World Cup.
The 18-year-old joined Cork City on loan later that month and has since made 16 appearances for the League of Ireland Premier Division side, adding the second goal of his senior career with a late equaliser against Shamrock Rovers.
