Carly Remmos and Amber Schutte signed one-year contract extensions to see them remain in the black and white until at least the end of 2026.

Elevated into the AFLW program as a replacement player last season, Remmos has since established herself in the midfield, featuring in all the Pies’ home and away games consecutively.

The 23-year-old spent two seasons on Geelong’s VFLW list before coming into the Pies’ VFLW side in 2023, finishing the VFLW season as runner-up in the best and fairest count.

After a comprehensive pre-season, Carly started the year in career-best form, averaging 15 disposals and five inside 50s in just the first two matches of the season.

Schutte, another young prospect, has established herself in the defensive line.

The Pies’ third selection in the 2023 AFLW Draft, taken with pick 34 from the Gippsland Power, Schutte made her AFLW debut in Round 2 of the 2024 season.

Collingwood’s fifth debutant last season, the 19-year-old’s best performance was against Richmond in Round 10, totalling 10 disposals and five tackles with 70% disposal efficiency.

Collingwood’s General Manager of Women’s Football Jess Burger said the Club is excited by the two young talents strengthening their commitment to Collingwood.

“We are delighted by the further commitment of two young, talented players in Carly and Amber,” Burger said.

“Carly has shown terrific growth and determination fighting her way back into the AFLW system last year. Since being elevated, she has maintained the drive to succeed, dedicated to her craft and development.

“It has also been incredible to watch ‘Schuttie’ develop into the player and person she is today, playing all but two games in 2024. At only 19 years old, she is an incredibly disciplined athlete who continues to impress.

“Their determination and ambition in their football is admirable, and we look forward to continuing to progress them within our program.”
