Collingwood has farewelled Head of Development Josh Fraser who has accepted an Assistant Coach position at the Carlton Football Club.
After coaching stints at Gold Coast and Carlton, Fraser returned to Collingwood in 2023 as Head of Development and Senior VFL Coach, and this season was pivotal in leading the Club’s player development program and supporting the growth of its young talent.
In addition to his role as Head of Development, Fraser was instrumental this season working alongside Scott Selwood to helping to coach the AFL side’s forward line during Selwood’s absence.
Fraser’s connection to the black and white stretches back to 1999, when he became the Club’s first-ever number one draft pick. He went on to play 200 games for Collingwood before finishing his career at the Gold Coast SUNS.
EGM of Football Charlie Gardiner thanked Fraser for his services over the past three seasons.
“Josh has an incredibly close connection to the Club, as a past player and a coach. He is highly respected at our Club, and we are grateful for the significant impact he has made to the Club since he returned to coach in 2023,” Gardiner said.
“Josh has been a fantastic mentor to our younger players and an important member of our coaching department. His care, work ethic and dedication to his role have been an asset to our AFL program.
“We thank Josh and his family for their contribution to Collingwood and wish him all the best for the future.”
Current Development Coach Neville Jetta will transition from the AFL program to become NGA First Nations and Multicultural Lead within the Club’s Future Magpies team.
