Match Preview | Cardiff City vs. Coventry City | Cardiff

On this day (23rd August) in 2014. just under a decade ago, a good sized Sky Blue Army (3,601 strong) made the trip south to watch Steven Pressley‘s CCFC play MK Dons at their place. The fans and the club were desperate to end their enforced exile at Northampton Town‘s Sixfields stadium where their first three ‘home’ League One and cup games of this season had been played. Two days earlier it was announced that the ‘Ricoh Return’ deal was done and (after another couple of away games) the Sky Blues would face Gillingham back at their rightful home on 5th September!

Though there were scoring chances at both ends on this day there was not too much to write home about in the performance of both sides in front of a 10,600 crowd at the stadium:mk but City did come away with a point in a goalless draw in Northamptonshire. This made three games unbeaten for the Sky Blues and five points out of the last nine!
