Raiders Retain Special Teams Coordinator Tom McMahon Under New Head Coach Pete Carroll

The Las Vegas Raiders will retain special teams coordinator Tom McMahon as part of the team’s coaching staff under new head coach Pete Carroll, according to NFL Network reports on Wednesday. McMahon, 55, who joined the Raiders in 2022, will now work under his third head coach, following his tenure with Josh McDaniels and interim head coach Antonio Pierce.

Carroll, who was introduced as the Raiders’ new head coach on Tuesday, replaces Pierce, who was fired on January 7 after the team’s disappointing 4-13 finish to the season. Carroll’s hire comes alongside the appointment of new general manager John Spytek, who takes over for Tom Telesco. Telesco was let go earlier this month after just one season in charge.

McMahon’s continued role is part of the team’s efforts to maintain stability on special teams while transitioning to a new leadership structure in both coaching and management.
