On February 11, 2025, Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant became the eighth player in NBA history to surpass 30,000 career points. He achieved this milestone during a home game against the Memphis Grizzlies, scoring 34 points and reaching a total of 30,008 points.
Durant’s accomplishment places him among basketball legends such as Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James. Notably, he reached this milestone in 1,101 games, making him the third-fastest to do so, behind only Wilt Chamberlain (941 games) and Michael Jordan (960 games).
Following the game, Grizzlies star Ja Morant paid tribute to Durant’s achievement by presenting him with the game ball, acknowledging the significance of the moment.
Despite Durant’s historic performance, the Suns were defeated by the Grizzlies with a final score of 119-112. Ja Morant led Memphis with 26 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, contributing to the Grizzlies’ 11th win in their last 13 games.
Durant’s achievement underscores his enduring excellence and solidifies his legacy as one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.
