Attacking flair is what Daniel Farke wants to see from Djed Spence moving forward as he continues to settle into Leeds United life. After completing his loan move from Tottenham Hotspur in the final few days of the summer window, Spence was given a first run out in white last weekend against Sheffield Wednesday.

Farke was more than happy with what he saw from Spence, who had gone the best part of five months without kicking a competitive ball prior to his switch to West Yorkshire. But, with Spence sticking around at Thorp Arch over the international break, the German will have been working hard with him in order to get his message across and help him meet the requirements he expects from his right-back, with attack seen as the best form of defence on the right edge.

“He needs a bit of time in order to be then ready that he knows each and everything about us,” Farke said after Spence’s bow. “I think the international break an“I would have preferred him to be sometimes even a bit higher and to show us like his quality in one-against-one situations close to the opponent’s box but he was also one time good in recovery and repairing a mistake in order to avoid a counter-attack because quite often, such a game develops like this.d the time that we can spend on the training pitch will be unbelievably beneficial for him but I think he showed also glimpses.

Following his difficult loan spell at Leeds United, Weston McKennie knows he has a point to prove as he looks to find career traction. The American joined Leeds on loan from Juventus in January but struggled to settle and produce his best stuff at Elland Road.

“Returning to Juventus wasn’t easy,” McKennie said, as per Tuttojuve. “I left the club in a moment of crisis, so coming back is like starting from scratch.

“It’s a challenge that I’m ready for, however, and which I think I need at this moment in my career when I have to prove to people that I’m still there.”
