Though there were some disappointing moments on early national signing day, the Auburn football program signed a fantastic 2025 recruiting class. 25 recruits signed with the Tigers, and many of them will be arriving on the Plains to enroll early in January. Even after losing records and tough seasons, Auburn ended up with the #6 overall class.

“We were able to hold on to some really, really dang good players,” said Freeze, per Auburn Rivals. “To get to where we want to get, you have to have similar recruiting classes to the elite. I have never said that you can’t win a game here or there, but to be consistent and running off the table and winning nine and 10 games in this league, you have to have a roster that is made up of some Top 10 recruiting classes.

“We’re two for two in that after today. That was a necessary step for us to get to where we want to go.”

The class is headlined by quarterback Deuce Knight and 5-stars Malik Autry (DL) and Jared Smith (edge).

TJ Lindsey will be hitting the transfer portal

A sixth scholarship player has announced his intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Redshirt freshman defensive lineman TJ Lindsey will be looking for a new home after spending one year in orange and blue.

Lindsey committed to the Tigers as a member of their 2024 class. He was a 4-star defensive lineman out of high school, and played his senior year at IMG Academy in Florida. He took official visits to Auburn, Texas, Texas A&M, and Miami, but it was ultimately a decision between the Longhorns and the Tigers.

The DL saw limited game action this season, and recorded two tackles in the Tigers’ season opener in August, but played a larger role on the scout team.
