LSU football has some key transfer portal targets set to visit Baton Rouge. See who’s coming.

Now that the transfer portal has officially opened, teams across the country can host players on visits, and LSU has multiple targets set to come to campus

Jacksonville State safety Zechariah Poyser, Purdue defensive end Will Heldt and Arkansas tight end Luke Hasz are all scheduled to visit in the coming days. They would help address several positions of need on the roster.

Poyser will visit on Wednesday, a source told The Advocate. He said in a social media post he also plans to check out Auburn and Florida. LSU is looking at safeties because of attrition and the way the position has struggled in recent years.
As a redshirt freshman this season, Poyser had 75 tackles, eight pass breakups and three interceptions for the Conference USA champions. Poyser, who’s from Wildwood, Florida, would have three years of eligibility.

LSU also needs defensive ends after starters Bradyn Swinson and Sai’vion Jones exhausted their eligibility. Nebraska edge rusher Jimari Butler told On3 he included LSU in his final three schools along with Florida State and Texas A&M.

Hasz, who’s listed at 6-foot-3 and 241 pounds, has 42 catches for 577 yards and seven touchdowns over the past two years. He impressed as a freshman in 2023 before suffering a season-ending broken clavicleabout halfway through the season.

Heldt, a 6-foot-6, 265-pound sophomore, has initial visits scheduled at LSU and Texas A&M, according to ESPN. He recorded 54 tackles, nine tackles for loss and five sacks this season. Heldt has played in 23 career games, and he would have two seasons of eligibility.

Hasz will arrive at LSU on Tuesday night as he starts a string of visits to Southeastern Conference schools, according to On3. He also has trips set to Alabama and Ole Miss.

LSU is looking for a tight end after junior Mason Taylor declared for the NFL draft. Though the Tigers have three scholarship tight ends, they are not proven starters. LSU also sent an offer to Northwest Missouri State tight end Zach Atkins.
