He Showed He’s Full Of It – Former Leicester Star Impressed With Foxes New Boy

Former Leicester City star David Nugent is of the view that Foxes new boy Stephy Mavididi’s performance against Southampton on Friday showed he is full of arrogance and confidence.

In the recently concluded transfer window, Leicester paid around €7.5 million for the 25-year-old winger from Montpellier.

Mavididi put up a fantastic display against Southampton on Friday, scoring one goal and assisting another to help Leicester win 4-1.

Mavididi’s willingness to take on the goalie twice in the game despite having the opportunity to pass the ball for a simple tap in, according to Nugent, demonstrates his arrogance and confidence in himself.

The former Leicester City player went on to say that Mavididi’s performance against Southampton demonstrated his desire to do his best for the club.

“He’s arrogant enough not to pass the ball to his teammate, who has a tap in,” Nugent remarked on BBC Radio Leicester.

“We saw in the first instance that the angle was most likely against him.

“He tried to lift it over the keeper to be clever, but the easy pass was to give it to [Jamie] Vardy to tap in.”

“The second time he won the ball back and took it around [Will] Smallbone, had to run half the length of the pitch to go one on one again, but you would say the easy pass was [Kiernan] Dewsbury-Hall on the left hand side for a tap in, but the confidence and arrogance he showed to smash it in the bottom corner shows he is full of it and he wants to do well for the club.”

The 25-year-old has appeared in all six league games for Leicester this season, scoring twice and assisting twice.
