‘Unbelievable’: Euro club’s chief shares how on-loan Leeds ace has transformed his team

Markus Krösche, Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director, claims that Leeds United loanee Robin Koch has helped alter the club’s defense this season.

Krösche was speaking in an interview with Bild when he praised Koch and fellow new addition Willian Pacho for their contributions to their defensive progress this season.

Koch was one of eight members of Leeds’ first-team squad from last season who left on loan in the summer after the club was relegated from the Premier League.

Each has enjoyed varied degrees of success at their respective teams, but Koch and Marc Roca appear to have had the most promising beginnings to the season.

Koch has been in the center of a back three for a Frankfurt team that has the best defensive record in the Bundesliga after five games.

Frankfurt have only surrendered three goals this season, and sporting director Krösche attributes that achievement to Koch and Pacho.

“We’re doing very well defensively,” he remarked. It’s incredible how steady Pacho is and how well Robin has integrated.”

There aren’t many of Leeds’ eight loanees who have permanent options at their new club but it would take a real turn of events if Koch was not to end up at Frankfurt.

Koch’s contract at Leeds expires next summer, and there looks to be no possibility of him signing a new term, and he has already expressed his desire to return to Germany.

It is a horrible piece of business from the previous administration not to receive anything back on the roughly £13 million paid for him in 2020.
