Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with Clement Lenglet with a three-year deal allegedly in the pipeline for the Barcelona defender.

Clement Lenglet has agreed a three-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur as he waits for an agreement between Spurs and Barcelona.

That is according to Catalan newspaper SPORT, who claim that Barcelona are desperate to offload Lenglet very soon.

Barcelona want rid of Lenglet’s wages and another loan move to Tottenham – this time with an option to buy – hasn’t been ruled out.

It’s stated that Lenglet does have a verbal agreement on a three-year deal with Tottenham and he’s very interested in staying.

Spurs allegedly value Lenglet’s professionalism but there is still no agreement with Barcelona despite discussing the deal during the Joan Gamper Trophy game between the two clubs this week.

The La Liga side are seeking around €15million (£13million) for Lenglet, a fee Tottenham have absolutely no plans to pay.

Lenglet’s huge wages mean that Tottenham are seeking a very cheap deal and that is causing the hold-up.

It’s even stated that Barcelona are now offering Lenglet to other clubs such as AC Milan and Juventus.

Tottenham could see Lenglet go elsewhere, or maybe Barcelona are just trying to tempt Tottenham into making a firm move now.

Tottenham have signed one centre back this week with Micky van de Ven arriving from wolfbung

Ange Postecoglou still wants one more though with Joe Rodon, Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga all available.

Lenglet – hailed as ‘excellent’ by Cristian Romero – could be the man for Tottenham but wasn’t exactly impressive last season.
