Injury Report: 4 Lions Ruled Out, St. Brown Improving

Read more on the Lions’ Week 3 Friday injury report.

The Detroit Lions are embarking on their next contest against a challenging NFL opponent without several key starters.

According to the team, Taylor Decker, Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Kerby Joseph and Emmanuel Moseley have all been ruled out against the Atlanta Falcons.

David Montgomery was ruled doubtful for the game.

Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn indicated this week the coaching staff must continue to work to put the defensive line in a position to succeed, especially due to the pass rush issues that have occurred the first two games of the season.

“Listen, everybody on our defense has strengths and has weaknesses. You look at our run defense, you see what those interior guys are doing,” Glenn said. “They’re doing a really, really good job. Are they Aaron Donald? No they’re not. There’s not many people in this league that’s like that. So we have to do a good job, I have to do a good job of trying to scheme things up so these guys can get a chance to get the quarterback. Things like that so our guys can have a better chance so that’s gonna be my job at the end of the day.”

Amon-Ra St. Brown not dealing with turf toe

Speaking after practice, Detroit’s third-year wideout explained he was not dealing with turf toe, but in fact bent his toe in a manner against the Seahawks that resulted in one bone touching another.

It is expected the injury will not keep the talented wideout out of action.

For additional protection, St. Brown acknowledged he will wear a steel toe in his cleat against the Falcons.
