The Bills restructure Dion Dawkins’ contract and gain $3.9 million in cap space as a result.
A week before this year’s trade deadline, the Bills have created new cap space.
According to Field Yates of ESPN, the team has modified left tackle Dion Dawkins’ contract.
The conversion of basic salary to signing bonus resulted in $3.9 million in cap space for the remainder of the 2023 season.
The Bills had less than $1 million in cap space available prior to this move, according to the NFL Players Association’s public salary cap report.
Dawkins is under contract through next season, with vacant years put on to stretch the cap burden out over a longer period of time.
