BEREA, Ohio — Browns running back Jerome Ford made a surprising return to practice Friday afternoon, and is “optimistic” he might be able to face the Seahawks on Sunday in Seattle despite his right high ankle sprain.

With Browns GM Andrew Berry looking on, Ford went through individual running back drills like a player who didn’t get his ankle painfully rolled up on late in Sunday’s 39-38 victory over the Colts.
