Touted Freshman Turns Heads at Ohio State Spring Game
The Ohio State Buckeyes might have gotten their next big star at the Spring game on April 12. Besides Jeremiah Smith, who led the team with 1,315 yards in 76 receptions, scoring 15 times last season, the Buckeyes now have another freshman wide receiver.
Mylan Graham, a 4-star recruit from the class of 2024, played a phenomenal game this Saturday. He tallied 104 yards in 4 catches, leading to one touchdown. He caught one from quarterback Lincoln Kienholz, leading to a 51-yard run down to the endzone.
Two touchdowns came from Quincy Porter and Bo Jackson, who recorded 88 yards in 13 and 35 yards in 4, respectively. He’s another guy who just needs to play football,” Head coach Ryan Day said, talking about Graham. “His route running is excellent. His athleticism is excellent. His attention to detail is excellent. The biggest thing with Mylan has been just finishing the catches, which we saw him do some today. That’s been his emphasis. Finish contested catches. Catch it clean and then put the ball away.
He had a big run after the catch,” Day added. “That ball was loose. You could see it. So he’s going to learn to tighten that up, but I think he has a bright future here. I think he’s grown. He’s gotten better and serious about his work. He knows what he has to work on, but he has all the tools it takes to be the next great one.
