Daniel Farke will finally have best Leeds United XI from next week after latest injury update – View
Leeds have been in superb form of late in the Championship, winning six out of the last seven while cutting the gap to first place down to eight points.
Daniel Farke has done that despite having key players out injured at various points during the season, and he hasn’t even been able to name his best lineup yet for a game.
Djed Spence has yet to start a game for Leeds, mustering only 10 minutes off the bench for his debut in September against Sheffield Wednesday, only to injure knee ligaments in the following international break.
The club revealed that he would aim to be back in action within eight weeks, which has passed with the win over Plymouth, not helped by Daniel Farke sharing that the player had tonsillitis, which sidelined him from full training briefly.
LeedsLive’s Beren Cross reported this week that the hope from Thorp Arch is that Spence is back in full training this week, aiming to be back for the Rotherham United clash next Friday:
Spence might not be fully fit for the trip to the New York Stadium, but he’s sure to be in the squad barring any hiccups.
With that, it’s such a boost for Leeds to bring someone back in who is arguably the best in his position in the league, adding so much to our side that has leaned a lot on full-back influence in possession.
Should Leeds get the 21/22 levels out of Spence’s performances, then we are going to see an attacking side that not many in this division will be able to live with, off the back of a points-tally that would be league-leading in numerous other seasons.
It’s hard to believe that Farke has coached Leeds to six wins from seven without his full strength lineup once at all this season.
