Aaron Ramsey delights BBC pundit as Aston Villa injury news emerges for Premier League clash v Tottenham

Alan Hutton can’t wait for Jacob Ramsey to return to the Aston Villa squad but he admits the attacker will have a battle on his hands to get into Unai Emery’s side.

Ramsey, 22, has only played three times this season for the Villans due to injury issues that started in the summer while he was on international duty with England’s Under-21s.

However, the Birmingham-born sensation is now on the comeback trail and BirminghamLive reports that he could return from his injury woes after the international break against Tottenham on 26 November.

Ramsey was in fine form last season but despite missing most of the action this term, Emery’s men have been doing well enough without him.

As it stands, they’re fifth in the Premier League and just three points away from league-leaders Manchester City.

Hutton admits that while it’ll be great to have Ramsey back, the youngster won’t be guaranteed a spot back in Emery’s starting line-up.

“He’s been outstanding, ever since Gerrard was at the club and he brought him in and brought him to the next level,” Hutton told Villa News.

I think he’s been unfortunate. He went away with England in the summer and picked up quite a serious injury that’s obviously hampered him a lot.

It’s been difficult this season but there’s no doubt about what he brings: goals, assists, energy.

The difficulty for him at the moment is breaking back into the team.

This team has been settled now, especially in the midfield and forward areas. It’s going to be difficult for him but he’s definitely got the capability to do so.”

In other Aston Villa news, the club has been told to sign a new striker as concerns about Ollie Watkins emerge.
