Green Bay Packers Cut 2 Players, Make 1 Signing After Brutal Week 14 Loss

After suffering a rather heartbreaking loss to the New York Giants in Week 14, the Green Bay Packers had to make some roster moves as they prepare for Week 15 in hopes of bouncing back to the win column.

On Tuesday, the Packers waived cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly from the active roster, thereby opening a spot on the 53-man roster. It is worth noting that Eric Stokes, who was placed on the injured reserve in late October, began practicing again last week. Considering that Green Bay cut a CB, it’s possible that the team is preparing for the return of the 24-year-old Stokes.

Aside from Kelly’s release, the team also signed wide receiver Thyrick Pitts to the practice squad and released linebacker Austin Ajiake in a corresponding move.

The Packers Green Bay Packers, Matt LaFleurnow have three wide receivers in the practice squad, with Pitts joining both Bo Melton and Grant DuBose. This could signify that the team is planning to elevate one or two wideouts to the roster, especially since they are dealing with some injuries on their receiving corps.

Christian Watson missed the Week14 game against the Giants with a hamstring injury, while both rookie receivers Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks could be sidelined after getting injured in the said contest. Reed is said to be dealing with concussion, while Wicks sustained an ankle injury, per SB Nation.

It remains to be seen what the Green Bay Packers end up doing amid their health issues, but sure enough, they appear to be preparing for the worst.

The Green Bay Packers head to Week 15 with plenty of motivation to win as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Losing to the Giants via a walkoff field goal is certainly frustrating, but the Packers don’t have time to cry over spilled milk as they shift their focus on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

For what itGreen Bay Packers, Christian Watson’s worth, Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love did promise that they will bounce back in Week 15. The  young quarterback expressed confidence that they have what it takes to get back to the win column, especially since they have done it before.

“I think we got a great team. Obviously, we’re a team that has been in this situation lost some tough games and been able to bounce back. So, I know we’ll be able to bounce back next week,” Love said.

The Packers are at 6-7 on the season and still in contention for a Wild Card spot, currently owning the last spot in the NFC. But in order to make sure they make it, they need to string wins together in their final four games. They can’t afford to lose anymore.
