Liverpool enter race for Fiorentina midfielder and Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat

Manchester United target and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is attracting interest from Premier league rivals Liverpool, according to AD via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

The Merseyside outfit are considering acquiring the services of the Morocco international in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, they have gathered information regarding the midfielder’s situation this summer.

However, the Anfield side are yet to make a formal proposal to get a hold of his signature. As things stand, Jurgen Klopp’s team have only gotten in touch to know about the conditions of a potential deal.

The 2022/23 term also saw Amrabat showcase his capabilities for Fiorentina. The Florence-based club made it to the finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League, with the Moroccan playing a key role.

At United, Erik ten Hag has added a number of stars in the middle of the park since last summer. Mason Mount made his way to the Old Trafford side from Chelsea recently.

However, what we seemingly lack is depth in the number six position. While Casemiro has been brilliant since joining from Real Madrid, the Red Devils struggled to get positive results in his absence in the previous campaign.

Therefore, United could evidently do with a player like Ambrabat in their ranks. Ten Hag is also familiar with the Moroccan, having worked with him at Utrecht.

One young Liverpool star has been a bit of an enigma and as he caught the eye against Everton’s U21 team, he sent a timely reminder of his future needing to be resolved.

With just over two weeks left of the transfer window, all the attention is on incomings for Liverpool. But there are futures to be decided in the club’s own squad as well, and that was made abundantly clear on Monday night as the club’s U21 side delivered a demolition job against Everton team in the Premier League 2.

Among the stars of the game was a certain Mateusz Musiałowski, whose name has been a bit of an enigma for the club’s supporters over the years.

Highlight reels of his mazy runs and dribbles have earned him the nickname the ‘Polish Messi’ because of his low center of gravity and overall he has always produced the goods at academy level.

He has sometimes been a little inconsistent, but that is to be expected of a young player.

And unlike some of his peers, despite his impressive outings at academy level, his performances have never translated to first-team opportunities.

For one reason or another, Musiałowski has generally been left out of Jürgen Klopp’s pre-season squads. He featured in just one game back in the summer of 2022 against Strasbourg, but that was mainly as part of a Liverpool reserve side.
