Two new transfer portal wide receivers available for Michigan football
Two Penn State wide receivers, Harrison Wallace and Omari Evans have entered the transfer portal. Michigan football should target one or both.
Things have started to wind down with the college football transfer portal but there are still entrants each day and there were two on Monday who should interest Michigan football.
The Wolverines have been after wide receivers during this transfer portal cycle. So far they have added two — Donaven McCulley and Anthony Simpson.
Both players saw limited action last season but had over 600 yards receiving in 2023. McCulley did that for Indiana. Simpson had four 100-yard games for UMass in 2023 before playing just two games in the 2024 season.
McCulley is also a 6-foot-5 former quarterback. Yet, if the Wolverines aren’t satisfied with that wide receiver haul, there are two new players available, both from Penn State.
Two wide receivers Michigan football needs to target
Evans (6-foot, 190) and Wallace each have one season of eligibility remaining. Neither is an All-Conference wide receiver but there’s no doubt that the addition of either would upgrade the wide receiver room.
Wallace has 81 receptions in his career for 1,221 yards in his career and would be an ideal addition. McCulley is probably being underrated by some fans. Simpson too. If those guys are both healthy and they should be, they should be able to add some much-needed production to the passing game.
But now that Penn State has added some other wideouts, Wallace and Evans are available and Michigan football needs to take advantage of it.
