Cincinnati Bengals Star Joe Mixon Addresses Rumors Of His Potential Release In Viral Comment

The Cincinnati Bengals endured a forgettable season as top quarterback Joe Burrow suffered an injury in the middle of the season. Without Burrow, they played well but were not competitive. Burrow will return next season, but they must make numerous changes to have a great roster capable of competing for a Super Bowl.
Joe Mixon, the Bengals’ top back, will be one of the crucial players they must re-sign. There were multiple reports that the team might move on from the back and try to resign Tee Higgins, but Mixon addressed the speculation this week. Mixon responded to fans on X, saying:

If you question Mixon, he believes he is remaining with the team and appears to want to stay there as well. They have a good chance of beating anyone when Burrow is in the lineup, and Mixon adds a strong run game to their offense. In recent years, he has also excelled at catching passes from the backfield.
The only way to let Mixon go is if they need to due to cap constraints. They may try to keep Higgins while releasing Mixon, but with such offensive studs, you can’t keep them all forever. Mixon is only 27, but at that age, running backs typically begin to fade. It wouldn’t be surprising if the team decides to keep Higgins while releasing Mixon. Regardless, the Bengals will have a lot to work out this offseason.
