Tyler Steen and Landon Dickerson celebrate after an overtime victory against the Buffalo Bills in an NFL game on November 26, 2023.

Tyler Steen will not be the Philadelphia Eagles’ center in 2024 due to Jason Kelce’s retirement, but Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens can potentially fill the position.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni praised Steen’s versatility, stating that he offers flexibility in various roles and is excited about his potential.

Coach Jeff Stoutland is expected to excel in his coaching style, benefiting Tyler, a talented player who was taken in the third round. Tyler’s development and recent minutes make him a great option.

Steen, a Vanderbilt transfer, played left tackle for Alabama in 2022 and was selected 65th in the 2023 NFL Draft by Philadelphia, playing 71 offensive snaps as a rookie.

Philadelphia’s 2022 NFC championship team returned its offensive line, except for Isaac Seumalo who left in free agency for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Steen recorded 62 points in his lone NFL start.

The Eagles started the season with Cam Jurgens, a second-round draft choice in 2022. However, Jurgens was on injured reserve, and Sua Opeta was out with a hip injury, giving Steen a chance to play.

Jurgens may shift to center to fill Kelce vacancy, with Dickerson, a 2020 Rimington Trophy winner, joining the lineup as a guard after being selected in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Philadelphia Eagles coach Sirianni is confident in Cam Cam’s ability to replace Jason Jones as starting center in 2024, given his extensive reps and experience in practice. The team will also have Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson return as tackles, with Kelce given a second-half rest in the Eagles’ final game of the 2023 regular-season.

Philadelphia’s offensive line is excited about the team’s current lineup, including five-time Pro Bowler Johnson and two-time first-team All-Pro Dickerson. Despite losing one of the best players in Eagle and NFL history, the team has a strong foundation of good players, including Johnson and Dickerson, who have been around Jason for years.
