Philadelphia Eagles sign safety Reed Blankenship to a one-year contract extension, keeping him in Philadelphia through 2025 season, avoiding him becoming a restricted free agent after 2024.

Philadelphia’s Blankenship has been extended with a guaranteed money of $3.935 million over two seasons, along with an additional $1.375 million in incentive bonuses.

In 2023, Blankenship led Philadelphia with 113 tackles, 79 solo tackles, and three interceptions, playing in four of the Eagles’ first 10 games as an undrafted rookie.

Philadelphia’s Blankenship made two tackles and intercepted Aaron Rodgers in his first full series against Green Bay Packers, leading to a 40-33 victory.

Blankenship completed his rookie season by playing in five regular-season and three playoff games, starting four of them.

Blankenship, a standout quarterback at West Limestone High School, earned All-State recognition and the 2016 Alabama Sports Writers Association Back of the Year Award.

Blankenship, a five-year starter at Middle Tennessee, became the Blue Raiders’ all-time tackles leader.
