The Pittsburgh Steelers are considering a Super Bowl champion free agent, Donovan Smith, as an offensive tackle option. Smith, a two-time Super Bowl champion, has started every season since 2015 and has played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs.

Pro Football Focus reports that the Steelers could sign Smith to a $2.5 million one-year deal, allowing them to retain their salary cap space.

Smith, despite his inexperience, could be an upgrade over Dan Moore Jr. if the Steelers can’t find an instant-starter in the draft. The move is expected after the NFL Draft, with a rookie competition expected this summer. This bridge move presents a higher ceiling for the team in 2024.
