An analyst predicts the Pittsburgh Steelers will draft a lineman at No. 20 in the NFL draft. The team overhauled their quarterback room, bringing in Super Bowl winner Russell Wilson and trading for Justin Fields. The analyst believes it’s time to protect these new investments at quarterback come draft time.

Steve Palazzolo’s mock draft for the Steelers suggests they will select Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims with the 20th overall pick.

Steelers took Georgia tackle Broderick Jones in the first round last year, with Jones as the long-term right tackle. If available at pick No. 20, there’s another Bulldog-sized hole with 6’8″ and 340 pounds tackle Mims. Pittsburgh kept its quarterbacks upright last season, only giving up 36 sacks.

Wilson and Fields require more mobility than Pickett, Rudolph, and Trubisky, requiring them to use their feet and extend plays.

Pittsburgh lost starting left tackle Chukwuma Okorafor in free agency, making Mims a perfect fit at left tackle.
