West Ham are leading the race to sign sought after English striker to replace Michail Antonio.

West Ham’s hunt to replace the ageing Michail Antonio has been an absolute failure from every angle. Despite signing top strikers like Sebastian Haller, Gianluca Scamacca, as well as Danny Ings, they’ve all failed to make a substantial impact.

However, with a new head coach comes a new style of play and, therefore, the opportunity to bring in a different type of striker.

While they ideally could do with two forwards this window, that may not be possible but either way they have to sign one good enough to start week in week out. Various reports recently claimed that Tammy Abraham was someone the Hammers admired and they were said to be lining up a bid.

Unfortunately, they will have to fend off the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa to secure his signature. But, much to the surprise of most, La Gazzetta dello Sport believes that it is the East London side who are leading the race for the Englishman.

His price tag is said to be around €25 million which is extremely reasonable for someone of his ability. The biggest concern is surrounding his injury record as he barely played at all this past term. If he is kept fit, he could be the perfect replacement for Antonio as the club heads into a new era.
