The Miami Dolphins were one of the most exciting teams in 2023, but their season faced difficulties in the later months due to injuries to edge rushers Bradley Chubb and Jaelen Phillips. Phillips suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 12, while Chubb tore his ACL in Week 17.

Both were having good seasons, as Phillips had secured 6.5 sacks, and Chubb brought in 11. Though both are expected to return in the 2024 season, they might not be fully healed by the time the season begins. The Dolphins also lost Pro Bowl defensive tackle Christian Wilkins in free agency to the Las Vegas Raiders.

This has left the defensive line for the Dolphins severely depleted, but they have now bolstered that unit in a big way by signing All-Pro defensive end Calais Campbell.

Campbell most recently played for the Atlanta Falcons, where he brought in 6.5 sacks, 56 tackles, 17 quarterback hits, and one forced fumble. Though he is 37 years old, he continues to play at a high level.
