Tonight’s rugby news as ruled out star ‘devastated’ and Biggar reveals where he’d ‘love’ to play next

The 26-year-old flyer has been ruled out of the summer tour due to a groin injury, and was in line to make his long-awaited first cap over the next few weeks.

Giles was named on the bench against Japan for Wales in 2016, but never got on the field. Almost eight years later, he was re-called to the international side – again under Warren Gatland – but he’ll now have to wait even longer for that debut match.

Posting to Instagram, Giles wrote: “Devastated to be ruled out of the summer tour to Aus by injury. Huge good luck to the group. For now… looking forward to ripping into rehab and getting back in an Osprey jersey for next season.”

Try-scoring former rugby league wing Regan Grace, who now plays union for Bath, has been called up the squad in Giles’ absence.
