Snoop Dogg has confirmed that he will be a torchbearer at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, carrying the flame through the streets of Saint-Denis before the opening ceremony.

Snoop Dogg, the hip-hop icon, has taken to social media to reveal his unique position in the forthcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The 52-year-old singer, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., will be one of the torchbearers, carrying the Olympic flame through the streets of Saint-Denis, according to Mathieu Hanotin, the town’s mayor. Hantoin wrote on social media, “Saint Denis: the last step before the Eiffel Tower.” “An international cast of @SnoopDogg for the final stretch of the Olympic Flame.”

Snoop Dogg couldn’t contain his excitement, so he posted on Twitter: “You gots to do it! Will you watch? “#FollowTheDog #ParisOlympics.”

On Instagram, he was similarly delighted, delivering the news in typical Snoop Dogg way. His first post stated, “Are you ready?” “Paris 2024 Olympics ya digg,” while another saw him posing in front of the “Paris 2024” emblem, with Bob Marley’s ballad “One Love” setting the tone.

Snoop Dogg’s final celebratory post featured a series of news headlines about his participation, all arranged to the patriotic music of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.”

The rapper made waves during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which were moved to 2021 due to the Coronavirus outbreak, by collaborating with comedian Kevin Hart to present a recap of the day’s events and important incidents.

Their collaboration was a huge success, with fans on YouTube and other media praising their banter as one of the games’ highlights. Snoop Dogg’s popularity prompted NBC to book the 52-year-old for coverage of the forthcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.

“Snoop is already an Olympic gold medal commentator, generating tens of millions of views for his highlights commentary on Peacock in the dressage competition during the Tokyo Olympics,” said Molly Solomon, Executive Producer and President of NBC’s Olympics Production, in a statement released in late December.

“That performance alone got Snoop a position as our Special Correspondent in Paris. We don’t know what’s going to happen every day, but we know he’ll bring a fresh viewpoint to our reimagined Olympic primetime show.”

The renowned rapper is overjoyed at the opportunity to once again represent the United States in his own unique style. “I grew up watching the Olympics and am excited to see these fantastic athletes bring their A-game to Paris. “It’s a celebration of talent, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness,” he said in an NBC press release.

“We’re going to have some incredible competitions, and, of course, I’ll be bringing my Snoop style to the mix. It’s going to be the most amazing Olympics ever, so remain connected and hooked in.

“Let us elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable; smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold.” “Peace and Olympic LOVE, you dig?”

Snoop Dogg will carry the legendary torch in the minutes leading up to the opening ceremony in the French city, which will mark the official start of the games on July 26 and run until August 11.
