Stephen Curry is nearing the end of his career. He is entering his 36th season. Last season, he averaged 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists, shooting 45 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from three.

Curry will eventually begin to slow down, signaling the end of his spectacular career. Fortunately for basketball enthusiasts, that likely future endeavor is still a few years away.

Curry is presently in Paris with Team USA, preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics. After the tournament, he will return to the Bay Area and begin preparing for another run at the NBA championship.

The veteran sharpshooter has helped raise four Warriors banners. He also intends to retire with the franchise, joining a select group of players who have spent their entire careers with the same team.

“I’ve always said I want to be a Warrior for life,” Curry told Andscape’s Marc Spears in an exclusive interview. “At this point in my career, I believe that is achievable. And you can still be competitive; nevertheless, this does not guarantee the title. It does not imply winning. Winning is always a priority, but you’re clearly realistic. It doesn’t guarantee that it will happen if you follow the course. You need to mix things up and continuously reinventing what it looks like to progress with the league.

Unlike other NBA superstars, Curry’s skill set does not rely on extraordinary athleticism. When he isn’t in possession of the ball, he creates high-quality shots through tireless movement. He runs over, under, around, and into the screens. He forces defenders to never stop moving, wearing them down throughout the game.

As long as Curry continues to shoot above average, the Warriors will have an outstanding offensive weapon at their disposal. As a result, they will have a game-winning ability to rely on for as long as Curry is in the NBA.

The task will be to constantly retool the roster in order to maximize the aging star’s potential. Mike Dunleavy Jr. has to add more young players to his rotation as he ages. Steve Kerr’s lineup performs best when playing at a fast pace. Curry must eventually embrace a greater off-ball role.

Nonetheless, the Warriors can expect to compete for a title for many years to come. Curry’s presence will ensure that they remain competitive in the Western Conference. Nobody knows how long this will continue.
