“I tried to give it my all. That’s what I do with every round,” said a sad Nelly Korda after missing the cut at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open. The golfer failed to bring her score down to an 8-over par overall after two days of play, resulting in her leaving home early. This undoubtedly caused much shock in the entire golf community, but it also gave rise to a single question: when will fans be able to witness her tee it off next?

Following the U.S. Women’s Open’s finale on June 2, the LPGA Tour will move on to New Jersey from Pennsylvania, the former of which is home to Seaview-The Bay Course. The venue will host the ShopRite LPGA Classic, the next event on the circuit after the major. And as to whether Korda will be playing, as of right now, the answer is one big ‘maybe’!

Interestingly, Korda’s name does not appear in the field for the Acer tournament. The list, meanwhile, includes a total of 144 golfers, headed by the defending champion of the event, Ashleigh Buhai. The 35-year-old had emerged victorious at the 2023 edition of the same event by beating Kim Hyo-Joo by one stroke and carding a 14-under 199 over three days.

The 25-year-old will likely tee it up at the contest after the one in New Jersey when the women’s circuit moves on to the Blythefield Country Club in Michigan for the Meijer LPGA Classic. The 2-time major champ’s name was spotted in the field at the event, with her status for the same being tagged as ‘Entered.’ Moreover, the tournament in Michigan directly preceding the third major of the season, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, makes it all the more likely for the golfer to take part in the event.

The American pro will look to clinch back her trophy at the tournament, which she won three years ago. Korda emerged victorious at the Meijer LPGA Classic in 2021 by beating Leona Maguire by two strokes. The 2021 champ had scored a figure of 25-under 263 by carding a total of 27 birdies over the four rounds, along with two eagles. She had also managed to rake in a cut of $345,000 from the total prize pool.

That triumph marked her fifth win of her career on the LPGA Tour. Fast forward to May 2024, and she boasts a total of 14 victories on the women’s circuit, including two majors. Korda, however, fell short in her attempt to make a major win—her 15th victory at the Lancaster Country Club.

Korda misses the cut at the U.S. Women’s Open

The LPGA Tour Pro’s 10-over par caused her to miss the weekend cut for the third time in her career at the U.S. Women’s Open, the first two of which happened in 2020 and 2021. She dished out a total of nine bogeys and six birdies. But what actually pushed her out of the tournament was a septuple-bogey-10 on Thursday’s par-3, 12th.

Her fans, although sad at her early exit, will surely want to watch her tee it up in her next tournament. Their eyes would, therefore, be all open and aimed at the Meijer LPGA Classic, which will kick off on June 13, a week before the third major of women’s golf tees off. Moreover, Korda’s followers will also be awaiting her 15th win at the event at Blythefield Country Club, hopefully!
