Sandro Tonali full of praise for Bruno Guimaraes after Newcastle break record

What a welcome return to form! Sunday was a successful day for Newcastle United.

Despite a shaky start at Bramall Lane, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United blasted eight past a hapless Sheffield United outfit, marking Premier League history.

No team in the division’s history has ever had eight different goal scorers in the same game (excluding own goals), as the Magpies did in South Yorkshire.

Bruno Guimaraes was among those who scored, and the Brazilian had Sandro Tonali licking his chops after the game.

After the Sheffield United game, Sandro Tonali sent a four-word message to Bruno Guimaraes. Tonali was among the first to congratulate Guimaraes on social media.

“Great match and happiness for my first goal of the season!” the Brazil star captioned an Instagram photo of himself celebrating.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome another little boy into our family!” Hello, Pietro! “Daddy and mommy already adore you.”

Tonali answered with “Bruno, Bruno, Bruno, Bruno” and a slew of love hearts.

Hopefully the start of something special

While Tonali did not start on Sunday, he did at least come on alongside Guimaraes for the closing stages.

So far, it would be fair to say things have not really worked out with both of PIF’s big midfield signings operating in the middle thus far.

Clearly, tougher tests will come but even the brief time they played together with the pressure off may help the pair develop a much better understanding going forward.

Quality players should be able to play together and if Newcastle are going to scale the heights of last season, they need both firing.

With Burnley up next in the Premier League, perhaps that rather favourable-looking test will provide another chance for them to shine.
