One the whole, West Ham have performed really well both domestically and on the continent this season, and David Moyes and his backroom staff will undoubtedly be delighted with the way that the first half of the season has gone.
The Hammers are currently sitting in sixth spot in the Premier League table, after taking an amazing 10 points from four really difficult festive fixtures.
However, not every West Ham player has contributed to the level that they should have done this season.
Said Benrahma is definitely one of those players. He has regressed badly this season, and has been heavily linked with an exit from the London Stadium in the January window.
Now, claims have emerged that the Algerian has not impressed the backroom staff at the London Stadium one little bit this term
Claret and Hugh reckon that the Algerian winger has failed to impress the staff at the London Stadium this season, and the club are prepared to sell him.
That’s no surprise whatsoever – Benrahma has been been absolutely woeful for West Ham so far this term.
Benrahma has played 21 games in all competitions so far this season, with only one assist and zero goals to his name. He has played just 615 Premier League minutes (Transfermarkt), and is nothing more than a bit-part player at the London Stadium now.
The former Brentford man is now an absolute shadow of his former self and lacks the confidence needed to take on his man.
I think the Hammers will sell Benrahma, but not until the end of the season, with Saudi and French teams both allegedly interested in obtaining his signature.
The West Ham backroom staff haven’t been impressed by the Algerian this season, and that’s really no surprise is it. He hasn’t done enough to warrant a regular starting spot in Moyes’s team, and I expect him to no longer be a Hammers player beyond the end of the summer transfer window.
