Sheffield United’s chances of beating West Ham United at Bramall Lane, on January 21, have increased considerably after some very concerning injury news for the Hammers.
West Ham United will miss Jarrod Bowen in their upcoming match against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane due to reports suggesting that the forward will be sidelined for ‘at least one month’ with an ankle injury. Bowen sustained the injury during the Hammers’ 1-1 FA Cup third-round draw against Bristol City on Sunday, requiring treatment and assistance off the pitch at the London Stadium.
In addition, creative midfielder Lucas Paqueta had to exit the game after only 14 minutes, experiencing a recurring calf issue that had troubled him against Brighton & Hove Albion just five days earlier.
According to The Athletic, Bowen is expected to be sidelined for at least one month due to his injury. Meanwhile, there is no specified rehabilitation timeline for Lucas Paqueta, but the 26-year-old is considered a significant doubt for West Ham’s upcoming visit to Bramall Lane next Sunday.
The Hammers are also going to be without Mohammed Kudus and Nayef Aguerd who are away on international duty in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
These absences will have pricked the ears of everyone involved with Sheffield United; the fixture does now seem so much easier with these key players missing.
