Four Heat Players Named in USA Basketball’s Roster Finalists
USA Basketball released a pool of finalists on Tuesday for the country’s 12-man roster that will participate in the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Forty-one players were recognized by the program. Four of those players were Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson.
Adebayo won the 2020 Olympic Gold Medal with Team USA. The center has appeared in 11 contests across three competitions for his country. He averaged 6.7 points and 4.9 rebounds.
Butler helped USA secure gold during the 2016 Summer Olympics. He averaged 5.6 points in eight games during America’s run at the podium.
Herro has never played for Team USA but was part of the 2021 USA Basketball Select Team that trained with the county’s National Team. The guard is having his best NBA season to date. Herro is scoring a career-best 22 points per game.
Robinson has never been associated with USA Basketball in the past. In fact, he and Herro are among the select few players on the list to have never been selected to an NBA All-Star game. Robinson is also in the middle of his best season as a professional. He is averaging 13.7 points and has been a key role player for the Heat this year.
USA has won Gold at each of the past four Summer Olympics. A 12-man roster will attempt to secure another Olympic Gold Medal in Paris. The games start on July 26.
