Following the tragic death of his father, Joe, former footballer Conor Bradley received heartfelt sympathies from Ian Evatt, the boss of the Bolton Wanderers.

Conor Bradley's father passes away just days after major Liverpool breakthrough

Following a loan stint with the Whites, the Northern Ireland international rose to popularity among supporters last season and has since made an impact in the Premier League with the Reds.

Following a protracted illness, Liverpool confirmed Mr. Bradley’s death in a statement released on Saturday night.

It said, “Everyone at the club is thinking of Conor and the Bradley family during this very trying and sad time.”

“LFC fervently requests that the family’s privacy be completely respected at this time on behalf of Conor.”

As Evatt was wrapping up his post-match interviews following today’s 1-1 draw with Barnsley, the confirmation was made.

It truly is depressing. We are giving him loads of love and well wishes for the future.

Mr. Bradley had seen his son play for Bolton the previous season, where he improved to the point where he was a contender for a spot in Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup for the Premier League.

The Bradley family, who are well-known inside the team, went to Wembley in April to watch him lead Wanderers to a 4-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle in the Papa Johns Trophy final.

“My prayers and thoughts are with the family, who visited us frequently. I hope they have time to grieve,” Evatt remarked.

“The loss of a parent is such a tragic event in a young man’s life, and I hope he receives all the love and support he requires. It’s a great family, so I have no doubt he will.

“I hope Conor, who is such a wonderful child, will be allowed some peace and time to grieve.”
