Said Benrahma, who moved on loan from West Ham United, is still unable to make his Lyon debut.

That’s according to FootMercato, which states on its website that the winger will be absent from the team’s Wednesday (6 February) game against Lille due to a suspension.

Said Benrahma admits he has found David Moyes treatment tough

Benrahma is not available, according to FootMercato, because he was sent off for the Hammers’ match against Bristol City last month.

Manager David Moyes surely reprimanded Benrahma for receiving a red card against Bristol City, after the winger was sent off in the FA Cup third round replay back on January 16.

The Algerian’s club was down 1-0 when he kicked out at Joe Williams of Bristol City early in the second half, earning him an early bath.

The Premier League team then found it difficult to break the impasse, with Benrahma’s red card surely playing a significant role in their struggles.

Benrahma is still suffering for his ignorance even though he is now with a different team. It caused Moyes and his team to have an embarrassing early FA Cup elimination.

In the January transfer window, the forward completed a loan switch to Lyon, although despite having an agreement in place, it appeared that the move would not happen for some time.

The trade eventually happened, but the Algerian will have to settle for watching from a distance when Lyon plays Lille in the French Cup round of 16.

In other West Ham news, following Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over Liverpool, Paul Merson made fun of the Hammers in a Premier League title chase.
